Battery equipment
Ask for usable energy capacity, power output, proposed quantity and warranty conditions. Capacity and power answer different questions.
Know the cost. Question the quote.
Start with what you want to keep running. Then compare the installed battery system, not just the price of a battery box.
A refrigerator, lights and communications equipment are a different goal from running air conditioning, electric cooking and the rest of a home. Tell the installer which loads matter, for how long and whether you already have solar.
Battery quantity is only part of the cost. Controls, backup switching, electrical changes and compatibility work also belong in the installed total. We don’t quote a universal installed price without that scope.

Confirm which circuits can operate during an outage and what switching, load management or panel changes are included.
Have the installer assess your current equipment and identify any replacement or integration work. Don’t assume every battery connects to every system.
Include electrical work, permits, start-up testing and any utility requirements. Ask what optional program enrollment changes about battery operation.
Ask which appliances can run together, how much energy is available and what operating assumptions produce the stated runtime. A battery’s energy capacity alone does not guarantee it can start every appliance or run the home for a particular number of hours.
For solar-plus-storage, request a solar-only price and the additional storage price. For an existing solar system, ask for compatibility findings before relying on the final budget.
Check incentives against your actual utility, property and installation date. Ashland’s municipal utility has different programs from Pacific Power. A potential rebate is not an approved discount. Start with our Southern Oregon incentive guides, then confirm current eligibility and funding with the program.

That may be possible, but the installer must assess the existing equipment and proposed connection. Get any required changes itemized.
Do not assume it does. Confirm eligibility, reservation, program obligations and timing, then compare the total installed price with the benefit actually available to you.
No. We discuss your priorities and contractor availability. The qualified installer specifies compatible equipment and supports the performance assumptions in the proposal.
