Solar not working? Understand the problem before paying for the fix. Get clear on the diagnosis, what the repair includes and who is responsible for the cost.
Start with a free conversation. Contractor diagnostic and repair charges are separate.
We organize what’s already been checked and the questions that still need answers, saving you time on repeat consultations. For projects we can support, Full Advocacy can include a local visit. Your contractor confirms the assessment, work and service charges.
Start with what changed.
Your app went blank. Production dropped. Your installer stopped returning calls. Those problems need different next steps. Bring the message you see, the last date the system reported normally and any written findings. We can talk through what you have before you commit to another proposal.
Diagnosis comes before a meaningful repair quote.
Ask the technician to explain what was checked, what failed and why the proposed repair addresses it. A written diagnosis should separate confirmed findings from work that still needs investigation. Agree on the diagnostic charge and what you will receive before booking. A free conversation with us does not make the contractor’s inspection or repair free.
Make the repair proposal spell it out.
Get the affected equipment and model numbers, parts, labor, roof access, travel, testing and exclusions in writing. Ask whether the price includes restoring monitoring and documenting that the repaired equipment works. If the contractor recommends a full replacement, ask why a targeted repair is unsuitable and which existing equipment can remain.
Check coverage before approving the bill.
A covered replacement part may still leave you with service costs. Ask who will submit the warranty claim, whether approval is needed before work and what happens if the claim is rejected. Your equipment manufacturer, original installer and new repair provider may have different responsibilities. Keep those responsibilities visible in the quote.
Here is where we can step in.
Tell us the property location, equipment brand and the help you need. We first confirm whether the work fits our service and whether a suitable provider is available. For an agreed project, we can coordinate written options. Optional Full Advocacy adds comparison and clarification within an agreed scope. Independent contractors diagnose and perform repairs; you hire and pay them directly.
A small service call needs the right next step.
Our usual bid-coordination focus is planned projects of $7,000 or more. A monitoring connection issue or a small repair may be better handled directly by manufacturer support or a qualified service technician. We will discuss fit before arranging outreach. Three repair bids are not promised, and we do not provide emergency dispatch or ongoing system monitoring.
Bring the information you already have.
Have the system brand, approximate installation date, monitoring screenshots, original contract and any repair quote ready. Tell the provider whether the system is owned, leased or under a power purchase agreement. Parts availability, access and warranty approval can affect scheduling, so ask for the next update date instead of assuming a same-day fix.
Questions before you take the next step.
Do I need three repair quotes?
Not necessarily. Start with a useful diagnosis. Once the scope is clear, decide whether another written opinion would help. Additional diagnostic visits may have separate charges.
Can you repair my inverter or reconnect my system?
We provide homeowner support, not electrical diagnosis or repair. The appropriate manufacturer support team or qualified technician handles equipment work.
Is the $499 option required?
No. Full Advocacy is optional and only starts after we agree that the project and requested support fit its scope. A small service call may not need that level of help.
