Solar can be a useful investment, but a sunny sales forecast is not enough. Start with your electricity use, the complete price and what you want the system to do.

Should you replace your roof before adding solar?

Installing panels and replacing a roof are connected decisions. Ask about the roof now so you do not discover an avoidable removal project later.

How much home battery backup do you need?

Start with what you want to keep running and for how long. The number of batteries comes after that conversation, not before it.

Will your solar panels work during a power outage?

Do not assume that generating electricity means your house will have backup power. Ask the installer to describe exactly how the proposed system behaves when the grid goes down.

Solar net metering: what happens to your power bill?

Solar production and bill savings are related, but they are not the same number. Your utility’s rules determine how exported energy is treated and which charges remain.

Solar production estimates: what is behind the number?

A proposal may show a precise annual kWh estimate. Precision in the printout does not tell you whether the assumptions match your roof.

Your panels, inverter, battery and installation may each have different coverage. Ask who takes the call and who pays for the work when something goes wrong.

We compare the bids, get answers about missing details and put our recommendation in writing. Then we negotiate scope and price in one final round. Full Advocacy includes one local visit when needed, so we can step in for you and save you time on repeat consultations.

If you hire a participating contractor, they pay us a disclosed fixed success fee after you sign their agreement and they receive your initial deposit. You choose, hire and pay the contractor directly. Their fee is not added to your agreed contract price and does not change it. Savings are not guaranteed.
